The Rock formations we saw were amazing we had to descend 260 Ft. through solid limestone. That was not easy for me since I am claustrophobic..the small spaces and Fact that I knew how far down we were, I was pushing myself out of my comfort zone to get the Amazing Images I knew we would see. June 16th 1930 is when Ruby Falls opened to the public. 15,000 pounds of dynamite was used to remove 5 million pounds of limestone, one bucketful at a time. To clear the way to see the underground wonder of the 145 ft waterfall at a dept of 1,120 ft under ground. Which makes it the Largest waterfall that is underground open to the public.
